How many people who have overcome their complexes exist? And how many of them were able to turn their shortcomings into a trump card?
One of these lucky ones was a dark-skinned model from South Sudan named Nyakim Gatvech.
The girl had a very long time complex because of her coal black skin and even wanted to take a serious step and bleach it. But over time, Nyakim was able to accept herself as she was, and made the whole model world do the same, becoming the most popular instagram diva.
The 24-year-old girl moved from her native South Sudan to the United States, found work in the modeling business and began to be proud of her skin color, having received the nickname “Queen of Darkness”, which the girl had to taste very much. Nyakim herself claims that "black is bold, beautiful and elegant, and can only be compared with gold." She also calls on all compatriots not to follow the imposed standards of beauty and love themselves, regardless of the shade of their skin.
Gatvech dreams of becoming an example for all African women and proving to the world that people who are different from everyone should not be outcasts and be attacked by others, but, on the contrary, endowed with their appearance from above to stand out and be special.
Despite the popularity and recognition, the girl still receives doses of negativity addressed to her appearance, but now it does not touch her at all. "My skin absorbs the rays of the sun, my hair defies gravity. Try to tell me that I am not magical!" - says Nyakim to their offenders.
Dark-skinned model managed to cope with the attacks of society and take, and most importantly, love yourself. Can her example help many people do the same?
